Last weeks matches brought an end to the sports teams fixtures for Term 1 and again it was another successful week for TES. The boys basketball and girls volleyball teams both won their games against BSK to remain unbeaten going into the winter break and the Y5/6 girls football squad performed superbly well in the annual KFSAC football competition at NIS finishing in 3rd place. To make the week even sweeter TES were crowned U13 girls football champions from the tournament last week after NES had been found to have played overage players. Overall it has been a terrific term of sport for TES and we look forward to more continued success in Term 2.
U13 ISACK Boys Basketball
TES 44 v 11 BSK
TES played BSK this week in their final game before the winter break. As always it was a difficult task to play BSK away and it took a while for TES to start to perform. However, once the boys settled the baskets soon started to flow and TES cruised into a commanding lead with some super baskets and pass and cut moves. TES led comfortably 24-6 at half time and everybody in the squad had plenty of game time. The scoring continued in the next quarter and after lots of changes the game finished 44-11 to TES. Player of the match was Rian. TES go into the winter break with 3 wins out of 3 and take on KNES the first week back after the holidays. Well done boys a terrific start to the season.
U13 ISACK Girls Volleyball
TES 2 - 0 BSK
TES took on BSK at home in their 2nd game of the U13 ISACK girls volleyball season. The girls put in a commanding performance to win 2 sets to 0. The first set was won 25-11 with some very good serving from the TES girls and the second set was won 25-16. It was a comfortable victory for the girls who go into the winter break with 2 wins from 2 games. Mariam was named player of the match for some great serving.
U13 ISACK Girls Football Tournament Champions
TES were crowned U13 girls football champions this week without kicking a ball. The girls had finished joint top in the tournament last week but finished 2nd on goal difference to NES. However, NES announced this week that they had played overage players by mistake in the tournament which means that the TES girls have now been crowned the champions. Well done girls.
Y5/6 Girls KFSAC Football Tournament
On Saturday TES Y5/6 girls football team took part in the annual KFSAC tournament. The girls had trained very hard for the past month and were excited to take part in the competition. The team played extremely well and qualified for the semi final as group winners after a 1-0 win against TEA, and two 0-0 draws against ATIS and BSK. In the semi final the girls played very well against NES. They worked extremely hard and NES were camped in their own half. However, TES could not find the break through and the game went to penalty kicks. TES led 2-0 but then missed the next 2 kicks and NES eventually won the shoot out 4-2. It was disappointing for the girls as they deserved to make the final. In the 3rd/4th play off the game ended 0-0 and TES won on penalties to finish 3rd. The girls had a super tournament and enjoyed the morning activity. Well done girls, great effort.
