After the half term break the ISACK and KFSAC seasons got back underway last week and as ever it was a busy week of sport at TES. The boys ISACK volleyball and girls basketball teams both had good victories and in KFSAC the girls netball team produced a superb performance to win the KFSAC tournament for a 3rd successive year. The week finished with a friendly U11 Basketball game in preparation for the BSME in which TES played extremely well and recorded a huge 78-0 win.
U13 ISACK Boys Volleyball
TES 2 v 0 TEA
On Tuesday the boys U13 volleyball team played TEA in their second game of the season. The boys travelled to TEA's new school for the first time and performed very well to record a 2 sets to 0 victory. The boys played some super three-touch play and served very well. Warner was named player of the match for an excellent all round display. Next week TES face NES at home in what will be a very tough game.
U13 ISACK Girls Basketball
TES 48 v 6 TEA
On Tuesday the girls basketball team played TEA in their 2nd game of the season. The girls started off brightly and scored some very well worked baskets to take a commanding lead. By half time the girls led by 24-0 and everyone had contributed well. The game continued to be comfortable for the girls and the final score ended 48-6 with all of the girls getting a very good run out. Mariam was named player of the day for a very strong performance. Next week the girls face NES away in what will be a very difficult game.
Y3/4/5/6 KFSAC Friendly Gala v KES
On Tuesday TES competed against KES in a friendly gala ahead of the KFSAC gala next week. The gala would help the coaches decide the team for next week. It was great to see lots of pupils taking part and trying out for the team. There were many TES wins and lots of pupils performed extremely well. Mrs Burns will collate the results and put them on display with swimmers' times in the next couple of weeks. Well done to all that took part.
Y5/6 KFSAC Girls Netball Tournament
On Wednesday TES took part in the annual KFSAC Netball tournament. Having won the competition for two years in a row the girls were very keen to bring the trophy back to TES. This year TES entered an A and a B team into the competition. Both squads performed extremely well with the B team winning two games, drawing two games and losing one game. The A team were superb and won all of their games to become champions. They beat TEA 8-0, KES B 3-0, BSK 5-0, NES B 4-0, KES 3-0 in the semi final and NES 4-1 in the final. The competition was great preparation for the U11 BSME tournament taking place in two weeks time and the TES girls will go into the competition brimming with confidence. Well done to all involved a fantastic performance: Zeina (C), Cassia, Crystal, Tamara, Nadia, Hannah, Emma and Darcy.
Y5/6 BSME Basketball Friendly v KES
On Thursday TES played KES in a friendly U11 BSME game ahead of the upcoming BSME Games in two weeks time. The game was played over 4 periods of 10 minutes and a final 5 minute period. The game involved two periods of mixed basketball in preparation for the BSME Games and a period of girls basketball and period of boys basketball. All of the squad were tremendous in recording a 78-0 victory! Everyone contributed and it was very good preparation for the upcoming Games in 2 weeks time.
