ISACK U13 Girls Netball
TES 19 – 4 KES
Today saw the first game of the new season for our U13 girls. The girls have been training exceptionally hard during the last three weeks and today saw their efforts pay off. The girls went into the game knowing it would be tough against KES, but nonetheless, they rose to the challenge and played very well. All 10 of the girls made appearances and all played their part well in securing victory for TES. Some excellent play at times from all of our girls.
Defensively, the girls were very strong, proving to be a tough force to break down. Maisy and Josefin did an excellent job keeping their players at bay and making it difficult for them to get any shots on goal- any attempts that were made, were forced to be taken from long range. Through the centre of the court, Zeina as captain lead the team well and gave it her all until the final whistle. Good shooting from Darcy and Angelina ensured that the hard work of the rest of the team paid off. Today’s result was a whole team effort and they should be proud of their win.
Well done girls, a super start to the season. Next week, we are home to BSK where the girls hope to continue their winning start and continue to defend the ISACK title in Netball.
ISACK U13 Boys Football:
TES 3 – 1 NES
The U13 Boys football team started the season with a victory against NES after a hard fought win. The squad of 11 worked very well together and put a great deal of effort into the win against NES. The first half was a very tight affair with both teams cancelling each other out and not many goal scoring opportunities. Danny scored the first goal of the game for TES to put us 1-0 up in the second half, working really hard to pressure the NES team and put a shot into the bottom corner of the net. NES fought back and scored an equalizer and put a lot pressure on our defense. However the defense of Cassius, Omar, Jack and Matthew made a lot of tackles and Benjamin in goal made a couple of vital saves and tackles to keep the game 1 -1. The TES team led by captain Owain and his fellow midfielders Max, Danny, Fahed and Shareef managed to out battle their opponents with the help of Orestis and created more chances to score. Danny scored his second goal of the game after a long throw from Owain bobbled around in the box, putting the ball into the same bottom corner of the net. NES pushed for an equalizer but were unable to break down the sturdy TES defense and late on in the game Shareef helped seal the victory with a shot from the edge of the box which ricocheted off a defender, the post and then the keeper before ending in the opposition’s net. A good start to the season for the team, well done boys!
