ISACK U13 Boys Basketball
TES 48 - 17 KES
The boys carried on their winning start to the season by beating KES 48-17. We dominated the game from tip off and took an early lead against the visitors. Defensively, the TES team were a lot more disciplined than in their last match and limited KES's scoring chances in the lane and did not foul as much. Orestis led the defence by pressing the KES point guard and Maro won numerous rebounds at both ends of the court. By the end of the first quarter, TES had a commanding 10 point lead and never looked like letting KES back into the game. The remainder of the second half was pretty similar with all the TES players getting a chance to play. The score was 18-4 at halftime. The boys played some very impressive team basketball at times, with most of the baskets coming from good assists. In the third quarter, the boys had switched off slightly, resulting in many turnover balls in KES’s favour. In the fourth quarter - where full court defence is allowed - our boys put in a great performance scoring 20 points! The final score was 48-17 with Owain (18 points) again leading the scoring and Maro and Orestis adding 8 points each. A good performance to finish the year. Our next match is on January 10th away to ESF. Well done to all of the boys who played.
ISACK U13 Girls Volleyball
TES 2 - 1 KES
After a disappointing performance in their first fixture, our girls were looking for a win today, to keep their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals alive. In the game against BSK, the girls looked nervous and this was reflected in their play, leading to many unforced errors. Since then, they have worked extremely hard in training to put right what went wrong - and yesterday’s match was testament to their efforts. In the first set, both teams made errors when serving and returning, meaning it could have gone either way. In the end, KES won the set 29-27. The girls were unlucky, as they had fought back from being 3 points behind. Moving into the second set, our confidence rose and they were ready to get themselves back into the match. Featuring some impressive serving and 3-touch volleyball, the girls won the set comfortably 25-13 and they never looked like losing it! That meant we were forced to play a third and deciding set. We didn’t get off to the best start, falling 6-1 behind. However, thanks to some fantastic serving and again the wonderful use of 3-touches, the girls managed to win the set 15-8 in the end. They were thoroughly deserving of their win and are now looking forward to playing against ESF in the New Year. An excellent end to Term 1 for TES sport - well done to all involved!
