On Monday 13th May the TES U13 girls basketball team took on BSK in the final of the U13 age group competition. The game was played at KES in very hot conditions. Both teams had beaten each other in the lead up to the game. TES having won at the BSME games and in the league encounter, whereas BSK had won in the early rounds of the BSME. The game started well for BSK and they raced into a 6-0 lead. TES missed too many easy shots and made a couple of mistakes on defence to let the game get away from them. However in the 2nd quarter TES started to play and reduced the score to 10-5. The game then went backwards and forth in the 3rd quarter. The TES girls putting in every effort to get back into the game. BSK managed to take a commanding lead into the 4th quarter and although TES scored first in the 4th quarter the margin was too far for them to pull the score back. The game eventually finishing 23-17 to BSK. It was a disappointing end to what has been a great season for the girls. They finished the season having won 6 out of their 7 games and they are the BSME U13 champions. So the team can hold their heads high.
Well done to all of the girls involved: Nawal Arfan, Kaitlyn Daniels, Ella Peterson, Olivia Loutfi. Farah Du Lieu, Tahiya Khan, Megan Bond, Danah Al Huneidi, Nawal Al Zaabi, Pia Abdou, Hessa Alrowayeh and Hannah Mathew.
The game brings an end to the girls U13 season. The girls have had a superb season winning the volleyball, table tennis and swimming titles. 2nd place in basketball, making the semi finals of the netball and finishing 6th place in the girls indoor football. They were also crowned BSME athletics and basketball champions.
