KFSAC Year 5 and 6 Boys Football League
This week our U11 boys were back in action, hoping to keep their chances of being crowned champions alive. And what a superb week it was. Both our squads putting in excellent performances on Monday against The English Primary school (TEPS) and Dasman Model School (DMS) on Wednesday. Now, we must sit and await the final overall standings from the season, to determine who this year’s KFSAC Football league champions are. The boys also have the Saturday tournament to look forward to, on November 26th.
TES 10 - 1 TEPS
The A squad came away with 10-1 victory and the B squad a 4-1 win- outstanding! The A team completely dominated their match. Right from the start the front 3 of Ciaran, Maxwell and Sam pressurised the TEPS team and created lots of chances to score. With great team play the TES team took an early lead that they never looked like relinquishing. Within the first few minutes of the game, TES were 3-0 up and cruising towards another victory. TEPS managed to get a goal halfway through the first half when they capitalized on some sloppy defending by the TES defence, other than that one fatal error, Jad in goal did not have to make a save all game. By half-time the score was 4-1 and that was despite the TEPS goalkeeper making a very good save from a penalty as well as a couple more from open play. In the second half the game was even more one sided with TES attacking constantly which allowed the defence of Ali, Christian, Omar and William to join in with the attackers and continue dominating the game. By full time the score was 10-1 with Ciaran and Sam scoring a hat trick each and Maxwell scoring 4- great stuff boys.
TES 3 - 1 DMS
The TES team started the game superbly and put pressure on DMS straight from the off. It didn't take long for TES to take the lead when Ciaran burst down the wing and put in a cross which Maxwell scored from. DMS had a couple of strong players that created chances to score but Jad in goal made a couple of great saves and the defence of Christian, Felix, Omar and William made a number of good tackles and interceptions to limit the scoring chances for DMS. The second half was largely the same with TES displaying great teamplay and work ethic and DMS relying on individuals. TES went 2-1 up when the DMS keeper rushed out of the box and played the ball up the line, only for it to be intercepted by Maxwell and smashed into the net from just inside the opposition half. With the constant pressure from TES the defence had an opportunity to push forward and William intercepted a pass in the DMS half and fired the ball into the bottom corner to go 3 up. Late in the game, TES had chances to score more goals but were unlucky and hit the post late on before DMS scored a consolation goal late on. A great league campaign for the TES A team- well done boys!
TES 4 - 1 TEPS
The B team carried on from where the A team left and put in a great performance against a mix of TEPS A and B team. Like in the first game the B team started very well and scored early in the game when Finley finished after good offensive play by Patrick and Oli. TES pushed forward looking for more goals and the defence of Chad, Christian, Haydn and Omar joined the attacks leaving Ilyas very little to do in goal. Chad scored another long distance goal when his shot went past the keeper from just past the halfway line and Finley scored his second of the game with a nice flick after good play from Oli. Aayan nearly added a 4th goal for TES but the opposing keeper made a good save. The second half was a more even game with TEPS playing more of their A team players but the TES B team kept on playing good, solid football and working hard as a team. TEPS managed to get the score back to 3-1 midway into the second half . TES replied with another goal by Finnley to make the score 4-1 TES. A stunning performance by all of our B team boys.
TES 1 - 3 DMS
The B team played against a very strong DMS B team. The first half was fairly even with DMS having a lot of possession and territory but TES battling hard and creating chances on the counter attack. The opening goal of the game came halfway through the first half when sloppy play by TES at the back gave away possession and one of the DMS players hit a shot that was lobbed straight over Ilyas in goal and into the far corner of the net. The starting team of Chad, Thomas, Haydn, Patrick, Oli and Rocco all battled well and were kept busy by their opposition. Aayan, Ali and Finnley all came off the bench and made solid contributions to the side and made some good tackles against their opposing players. Ilyas in goal made a couple of really good saves before was finally beaten again to make the score 2-0. TES kept on battling and working hard against a very difficult side and managed to get on the scoresheet when Ali poked the ball home to make the score 2-1. DMS made it 3 when a corner was not defended well by TES and the ball rebounded into the goal. The game finished 3-1 DMS but TES put in a very spirited performance, finishing their season in 3rd place- well done boys!
ISACK U13 Boys Football: Semi-Final
TES 1 - 0 NES
After a fantastic start to their football season, our U13 boys were back in action. Having qualified for the semi-final, the team were fired up and ready to book their place in next week’s final showdown- with only NES to beat. After beating NES 3-1 in the opening game of the season the semi final was a much tighter contest with both sides showing improvement from the start of the season. The start of the game was rather sloppy with both sides giving away possession with missed passes or poor control. The game was end to end with both sides not really able to create any good scoring opportunities. TES managed to take a few shots but were unable to trouble the NES goalkeeper, while NES were unable to break down the solid TES defence and had to take long distance shots, one of which Benjamin in goal made a fantastic save from. The second half was much improved for TES and the boys started to do the things that made them successful during the league campaign. Cassius,Jack, Matthew and Omar in defence all made some vital challenges and restricted the opportunities for a very good NES attack. The TES attack also became more effective with the wider positioned players, Danny, Max and Shareef, all starting to beat their defenders and cause problems for the NES defence. Through the middle of the pitch Owain made some vital challenges and created a number of attacks for the team, while Orestis upfront was pressurising the NES defence and winning the ball back for the team. The breakthrough for TES came late in the second half when a long ball was chased down by Orestis causing confusion in the NES box and the ball ricocheted to Max who smashed the ball into the back of the net. After taking the lead TES nearly scored a second when Max’s shot was well saved by the NES keeper. For the remainder of the game the TES team put in a very solid team performance limiting the NES players to long distance shots and any half break where cleared up by the defence or Benjamin in goal. After a much improved second half display the boys finished the semi as winners and progress onto the final next week against KES. Well done boys!
ISACK U13 Girls Netball: Semi-Final
TES 26 - 0 KES
Having made an excellent start to the Netball season, our girls took on KES today in their semi-final match up. Since their defeat to NES three weeks back, the girls have trained even harder and their thirst for victory has increased ten-fold. They certainly did not hold back Tuesday afternoon- a huge victory of 26-0 over KES sees them safely through to next week’s final.
At half time, our girls led 14-0 and looked comfortable. All 10 girls were able to play, making the victory all the more meaningful as each individual contributed to the win. Angelina and Darcy well and truly found their shooting form in this match, making it extremely difficult for the defense of KES to live with them. Sienna and Zeina were quite simply superb in supporting our shooters and indeed the defense, working in perfect harmony. Maisy and Josefin made sure that a clean sheet was kept- and in Netball that is quite some feat. So well done to our awesome defense! KES looked to score on a number of occasions, but our girls were fired up and well and truly brought their A game tonight. Their passing and movement around the court was the best we have seen to date. Callie, Mia, Emily and Mackenzie made their marks on the game, with some outstanding interceptions in the centre court and high energy All in all, a sterling performance girls and your best performance to date. Next week, we move on to face NES in the finals. Best of luck TES, and may the best team win!
