KFSAC

Wonderful Week for TES brings a fabulous end to the KFSAC season and retains TES the overall KFSAC trophy.

It has been a wonderful week again for TES in the U9 and U11 KFSAC competitions. Following on from the U9 football success last week the final three competitions of the year took place.

KFSAC U11 Y5/6 Cricket

On Saturday 4th May TES Y5/6 cricket team travelled to Mishref to take part in the annual cricket competition. 5 teams entered the competition and each team played each other in a round robin format. TES began very well and easily beat both BSK and NES with some good bowling, fielding and batting. The 3rd game against TEA was close for a period of time, however Ian Robb and Jaden Pope both batted very well to steer TES to a comfortable victory. The final game against KES meant that whoever won would claim 1st place. In a very exciting match TES bowled very well and took 5 quick wickets to peg KES back. However a couple of missed run out opportunities cost TES some vital runs being taken from KES score and it was to prove pivotal in the end. TES batted well and kept the scoreboard ticking over. With one over to spare TES needed 13 runs to win, Anant Shah and Jaden Pope reduced the deficit to 4 runs but could not muster the winning runs from the final ball. This meant that KES won the tournament, TES were 2nd, BSK were 3rd, NES 4th and TEA 5th.

It was a super performance from the boys. Well done to: Ian Robb, Evan Kapasakis, Will Morris, Anant Shah, Jacob Russell, Jaden Pope, Ashlin Blackburn and Owain Watts. A mention should go to Jack Boesley who unfortunately strained a muscle the day before the tournament and was unable to take part.

KFSAC U11 Y5/6 Girls Basketball

On Monday 6th May TES Y5/6 Girls Basketball team travelled to NES to take part in the first ever all girls basketball tournament. The girls played fantastically well and easily won their group games. They beat KNES 10-0, NIS 20-0, ESF 10-4, KES 12-0 and cruised into the semi finals as top seeds. In the semi final the girls took on NES. At 2-0 to TES with 4 minutes played the game had to be postponed due to rain. This meant the girls would have to return on Wednesday and play the semi final before the boys tournament. The semi final started and went 4-0 down, however after some excellent play from Hannah Mathew they quickly pulled the score back to 4-4. TES then took control scoring another 3 baskets to win 10-4 and move into the final. In the final TES took on BSK. In a tight game with some good defending Aysha Al Arfaj scored the first basket. A free throw from Hannah Mathew was enough to put TES into a 3-0 lead. TES then played some superb defence and did not let BSK get a shot at basket to win the game and become the Y5/6 Girls Basketball champions. Well done to all of the girls involved in what has been an amazingly successful year for the girls KFSAC teams: Cameron Uys, Hannah Mathew, Summer Daniels, Mariam Noureddine, Emma Jones, Eve Peterson, Nour Rashid and Aysha Al Arfaj.

KFSAC U11 Y5/6 Boys Basketball

On Wednesday 8th May the TES boys Y5/6 Basketball team took part in the first all boys basketball tournament. The boys played superbly well and cruised through their group with wins against: KNES 5-0, NIS 6-0, ESF 12-0 and KES 1-0. This meant they went through as group winners. In the semi final TES took on NES in a repeat of the girls semi final. A ruthless performance from the boys saw them win 10-2 with some good lay ups scored by Yousef Abul Enein. This put TES through to the final to take on KES for the second time of the day. TES scored early and should have made the game safe with lots of chances to add to the lead. However the boys were excellent in defence and denied KES any clear cut opportunities. The game ran to a close and TES were victorious 2-0 to become the Y5/6 boys overall champions. It was a superb performance from the boys who only conceded 1 basket in 6 games. Well done to all involved in what has been an outstanding year for the boys KFSAC teams: Yousef Abul Enein, Khalid Alrowayeh, TJ Gamali, Ian Robb, Rain Jagtiani, Will Morris, Donald Bolton and Rayce Abal.

TES retain the Overall KFSAC trophy

It has been an outstanding year for TES sports teams. The overall KFSAC competition is decided over 15 competitions throughout the year. The teams compete in U9 and U11 competitions for both boys and girls. Last year TES were crowned champions for the first time with a record number of points. This year the school have been even more successful. Overall the teams have won 9 out of the 15 events. The Y5/6 netball team also won a KFSAC friendly competition that did not count towards the overall points. This means out of 16 events TES won 10 over the year. The KFSAC competition involves 14 schools so to win overall is a major achievement. Well done to everyone involved and all of the teachers who have been involved in coaching a team. It has been an outstanding year and something we should all be very proud of.

ISACK

Boys lose gallantly in the ISACK U13 Volleyball Final.

TES played BSK on Tuesday 7th May in the final of the ISACK U13 Volleyball competition. The game started with an exchange of points and some superb rallies between two very good teams. At 15-15 in the first set BSK started to take control and took a commanding lead. They continued to perform well and took the first set 25-17. However the second set was a different story. TES played extremely well and won the set 25-18. This set up a thrilling final set finale. Both teams exchanged points and some excellent points were played including some quite superb defensive play from the TES players. At 5-5 BSK began to take control. BSK served well and took a commanding lead. At 9-5 TES pulled a couple of points back, but a couple of errors cost TES dear and there was no way back from this point. BSK eventually closed the game out 15-9 with some superb spiking from their two excellent players. Nethertheless the TES boys should be very proud of their performance. They fought hard and played some outstanding volleyball. Well done to all of the volleyball squad involved: Musaddiq Lakhana (c), Sam Watts, Brandon Jones, Seth Abal, Yousef Noureddine, Elias Lambros, Donaven Lobo, Alex McEwan, Cameron Turner, Yousef Ali, Imad Khachab and Andrew Al Saleh.

This brought an end to the boys U13 ISACK year. It has been a wonderful year and the boys should be very proud of their achievements in making all three of the major finals. This year they have come runners up in both the U13 Basketball and Volleyball, they became champions of the U13 football and regained the U13 swimming title. They were also runners up in the boys indoor football and 3rd place in the boys table tennis. Well done to all of the boys who have been involved in the ISACK teams this year.
