Mixed Week for TES Sports Teams
ISACK U13 Boys Football
On Monday 30th September TES took on KES in the second game of the U13 football season. The game started brightly but in very hot conditions both teams started to struggle to string any notable passes together and get a foothold in the game. A couple of half chances went begging for both sides as the half drew to a close. Just before halftime a hopeful punt upfield from a KES defender bounced over the head of the advancing TES keeper and landed in the net to put KES 1-0 up. The second half was a similar affair. TES pressed for an equaliser and created a couple of good opportunities. However, neither was taken and TES were left to ponder what might have been in a game they could easily have won. Final score: KES 1-0 TES. Next week the boys face TEA in a very important game.
ISACK U13 Girls Volleyball
On Tuesday, 1st October TES U13 girls’ volleyball team played their second game of the season against a strong KES team. KES played very well in the first set and at 14-14 took control of the game with some good serving to eventually win the set 25-17. However it was a different story in the second set with TES coming out firing. Leen Abul El Ela and Mariam Noureddine served superbly well to put TES into a commanding lead. KES could not get back into the set and TES took the 2nd set 25-15. A deciding third set had to be played with TES starting with the serve. Mariam Noureddine served superbly and put TES in a commanding 10-0 lead. Then an exchange of points between both teams led to Leen Abul El Ela serving out to win the set 15-2 and give TES a superb 2-1 victory.
KFSAC Y5/6 Football
TES played their first two football games of the KFSAC season this week against KES and BSK. On Monday 30th September TES played KES at the new Almasila football pitches. In a super game the TES A team drew 2-2 with Archie Pearson and Rami Miski scoring the goals. The B team played some great football and won 3-1 with Amer Salha, Abdullah Al Jayousi and an own goal completing the scoring.
On Wednesday, 2nd October TES played BSK in the second game of the KFSAC season. The A team conceded two early goals but battled back to level at 2-2 through Archie Pearson and Rami Miski. However with time running out BSK scored to lead 3-2 and there was no way back for the hard working TES team. The B team scored early through Cameron McEwan and led until the final seconds of the game when after a flurry in the box BSK equalised to make the final score 1-1.
The results leave TES A team on 4 points from 2 games and the B team on 7 points from 2 games. TES now face a huge game against NES next week that will have a large bearing on the overall league positions.
ISACK Girls Swimming Gala
TES played host to the first ISACK swimming gala of the year on Thursday 3rd October. The gala consisted of U13, U15 and Open Age group competitors. TES entered competitors in both the U13 and U15 category with U13 being the main focus and U15 being used as good practise for the children for future swimming events. All of the girls that took part swam extremely well and a number of personal bests were set. Well done to all of the swimmers from TES. The results of the competition will be announced within the next week.
