Why Year 9 at TES?

Year 9 serves as a crucial transition year between Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. It provides students with the opportunity to:

Year 9 Curriculum & Preparing for IGCSE

The Year 9 curriculum at TES is designed to provide depth and breadth in learning while laying the groundwork for IGCSE subject choices in Year 10.  Our well-balanced programme not only prepares students academically, but also fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Year 9 is a foundation year for IGCSE. While it does not mark the start of Key Stage 4, it provides students with the necessary preparation for the rigour of IGCSE study. Our goal is to empower students to make the best decisions for their future while ensuring they are academically and emotionally prepared for the next stage of their education.

Year 10 Curriculum & The Start of IGCSE

The Year 10 curriculum at TES marks the exciting beginning of formal IGCSE coursework, allowing students to engage with their chosen subjects in greater detail. Our rigorous programme not only focuses on syllabus content, but also cultivates independent study habits, resilience, and advanced analytical skills.

Year 10 represents the official start of Key Stage 4. As students embark on this two-year cycle, the focus shifts toward mastering specific subject criteria and developing exam technique. Our goal is to support students in managing their new academic workload effectively, ensuring they remain confident, balanced, and focused as they work toward their final qualifications.
