Y3/4 KFSAC Benchball Team win first trophy of 2013 for TES
On Wednesday 16th February TES mixed Y3/4 Benchball team competed in the annual KFSAC tournament against 9 other schools. The competition was held at TES and was watched by a number of excited parents and supporters. TES performed extremely well throughout the tournament, beating KES 3-1 in a tough first game, then comfortably beating NIS 6-0. In their toughest encounter of the tournament TES beat ATIS 3-2 in a close game. The result meant that TES qualified in first place in group A for the semi finals. In the semi final TES played ESF. In a tight affair TES took the lead, they were then pegged back to 1-1 but two quick scores put TES in control and the score finished 3-1 to put TES into the final v NES. The final was a close encounter. TES were first to score playing excellent benchball on the fast break. NES short sharp passing style was working well and they equalised mid way through the game. However with 2 minutes remaining TES proved too strong and scored two more goals to make the final score 3-1 crowning TES the Y3/4 Mixed Benchball champions for 2013, defending the trophy that they won last year.
It was a superb effort from all involved and the team throughly deserved to win after the hard work and training they have put in. Well done to all involved: Cameron McEwan (C), Abdullah Al-Jayousi, Rami El Miski, Owain Watts, Rasmus Castella, Tom Ocock, Lily Doubt, Nadia Toh, Alexia Tingey and Zeina El Kadi. It should also be noted that over 50 boys and girls tried out for the team. Shaan Jagtiani, Ghala Al Mudhaf and Max Boesley deserve special metions for helping out with the training leading up to the event.
