Y3/4 KFSAC Mixed Benchball Tournament
On Monday, 20th January the Y3/4 mixed Benchball squad competed in the annual KFSAC tournament. 12 schools were involved and paired off into two separate groups. TES were in group A alongside: KES, DMS, TEA, GES and NIS. The team started fantastically well beating KES 6-0. In the second game they beat DMS 4-2 and claimed a 3-0 victory against GES to sit at the top of their group. Two more wins followed, 6-0 against TEA and 7-0 against NIS. The results meant that TES went through to the semi final as group winners. In the semi final the team took on ATIS. In a fast paced game TES took the lead and then scored quickly to go 2-0 up. ATIS then hit back but the TES team scored again to put the result beyond doubt AND TO WIN 3-1. In the final the team took on NES which promised to be a tough encounter. TES scored early but NES replied to make the score 1-1. TES then controlled the game and scored to go 2-1 up. Some heroic defending from TES kept NES from equalising and the game ended 2-1. This meant TES were crowned champions of the Y3/4 mixed Benchball for 2014. A fantastic achievement and the 3rd year in a row that the team have won the competition.
Well done to all of the squad involved: Basil Tuma (C), Emma Luna, Darcy Highmore, Tamara Wood, Pollyanna Patterson, Ryan Butcher, Ole Bartlema, Ahmed Abul Enein, Matthew Cooper and David Al Saleh. Jack Oliver an Fahed Al Thuwain should also be mentioned as an important part of the squad during the training.
Y5/6 KFSAC Boys Benchball Tournament
On Wednesday 22nd January the Y5/6 Boys Benchball squad hoped to continue the success from Monday in the annual Y5/6 Boys KFSAC benchball competition. Having won the competition for four years in a row TES were looking to make it an amazing five. TES started very well against ATIS recording a 6-0 victory. They then took on ESF and won 6-2 and then played against NES winning 11-2. With two group games remaining TES were on course for the semi finals. In the two remaining group games TES defeated TEA 8-0 and TEP 8-1to win the group convincingly. In the semi finals TES played GES and recorded a comfortable 6-1 win. This put the boys through to the final to once again meet NES. TES started extremely well and scored twice very quickly to take a commanding lead. The game continued with TES piling on the pressure and scoring 5 more goals to win 7-0. The result meant that yet again for the 5th straight year TES were crowned Y5/6 Boys Benchball champions. This is a fabulous achievement and the boys result means that TES have won all of the KFSAC Benchball tournaments this year following on from the girls success in October and the Y3/4 success earlier in the week.
