Year 1 and 2 Sports Day Report
On Sunday 6th February TES hosted the annual Year 1 and 2 sports day. It was a beautiful morning and lots of parents were in attendance to see the events. The day began with year 2 competing in the field events. These included a long jump, bean bag throw, rocket throw and a basketball shot. Year 1 pupils started on the track events which included an obstacle race, sprint race and a relay. Pupils at first raced against their own house group and the two fastest went through to the final against the other fastest pupils in the 4 houses of Balmoral, Buckingham, Sandringham and Windsor. After an hour of activity Year 1 and Year 2 changed over so that Year 2 competed in the track events and Year 1 in the field events.
There were some fantastic performances throughout the morning and all of the pupils contributed to the overall points score for their house group. At the end of the events Mr Peacock thanked all of the pupils for their superb performances and the staff who helped to make the day run so smoothly and the Year 8 pupils who helped out with the events. Mr Peacock then announced the overall results and awarded the house trophy to the 2014 Year 1 and 2 champions: Windsor. It was a brilliant morning and everyone involved should be very proud of their efforts. Well done.

The morning began with the field events of triple jump, long jump, discus/cricket ball throw, javelin, high jump and shot putt. After the field events the pupils made their way to the track events and sat in their house groups ready to race and cheer on their team mates.
