ISACK U13 Boys Volleyball: Semi-Final
TES 2 - 1 ESF
TES managed to make the ISACK volleyball final with a very close victory versus ESF. The visitors started the game well whilst TES looked nervous in the opening set of the match. ESF took an early 11-2 lead at the start of the game and the TES boys never really got their rhythm in the opening set and never really challenged the ESF team. The boys started to perform better later in the set, but were unable to get close enough to put any pressure on the opposition and ended up losing the opening set 25-18, this was the first time we had gone a set behind all season. In the second set, the boys looked much better and were showing great effort and determination throwing themselves around to keep the ball alive with some fantastic shots. While serving well and limiting the errors, TES controlled set 2 and went on to force a third set after a 25-14 victory. Looking to carry on the momentum from set 2, the boys started well in the deciding set and had an 8-6 lead at the turnaround. TES were looking good for a win but some errors at crucial times shifted the advantage from team to team. Staring defeat in the eye with the opposition on 14 points, TES rallied and tied the score, meaning the teams would have to win by 2 clear points in the decisive set. TES saw a number of match points come and go through mistakes due to the pressure of the game. Each teams traded points as neither ESF or TES could make it over the final hurdle. In an extremely tense and pressurised situation the boys showed great character and effort during the match and all their hard work paying off with a 24-22 victory in the deciding set. It was a thrilling win for the boys and they displayed a great deal of TES team spirit and positive attitudes to carry them to victory. Well done boys! Onto the final at Qadsiya next Tuesday, one more win to go boys.
