ISACK U13 Girls Netball
TES 31 v 11 NES

The girls final group match of the season, proved to be their toughest challenge yet. The NES team pushed us from start to finish and it wasn’t until the final quarter, that our girls really took charge of the game. In the first quarter, both teams let nerves take hold and lots of unforced errors were made in the opening couple of minutes. Eventually, the first goal came in favour of us. The girls had to work hard for it though. After their first, they then pushed a little harder, and on the offense were superb. The feeding into the circle from Melanie was at times perfect, enabling Angelina and Darcy to continue their scoring stardom! NES however fought back and made our girls work hard for the goals. Both teams should be credited for their passion and efforts in the first ten minutes as neither team was letting up. The score at the end of quarter one, was 9-2 TES. A good start, but more was needed to ensure victory was ours. As we moved into the second quarter, NES came out the stronger, putting us on the back foot for the first 5minutes. They looked strong defensively and between sloppy passing and great interceptions from them, our girls struggled momentarily to get the ball down to Darcy and Angelina. In the latter half of the quarter however, the girls came alive and mounted a counter-attack to ensure we remained in front. Josefin and Callie made numerous interceptions making life difficult for NES to continue scoring and were well supported by Thalia and Olivia who place their players under immense pressure, forcing the held ball. The score was 17-6 at half-time. As the second half began, both teams seemed to have slowed down. Many errors were made by both teams- often unforced and so the third quarter, ended up being a rather lack-luster 10 minutes, with neither team really impressing the crowd. NES did have the upperhand however, when it came to chasing down loose balls, which cost us in this third. It was our lowest scoring quarter in the entire league so far. 22-9 was the score, with just 10 more minutes to play. The final quarter was quite the opposite to the last 20minutes of play! Our girls looked hungry for the win and set out to put right what had been going wrong. Defensively, Olivia, Thalia and Callie really stepped up to the mark and put the NES attack well and truly under pressure, limiting their chances. Melanie and Josefin were superb in the final quarter in linking up the defense and attack, making numerous interceptions between them and ensuring that their passing and movement was slick. All 7 of the girls played extremely well in the final 10 minutes and NES couldn’t live with them for much of the last quarter. The final score was 31-11. Overall, it was a pleasing performance and for the girls to remain undefeated so far, is excellent. They finish top of the ISACK table. Their semi-final will be played here at TES after half-term against whichever team finished fourth- this will be announced after the holidays. Great job so far girls- are we looking at the U13 ISACK Champions?
Friendly Swim Gala- TES vs KES
On Monday, we saw a record number of TES and KES Primary school students participate in the friendly gala hosted here at TES. We had over 50 participants from Years 3-6 take part and all of them swam their best. It was an enjoyable afternoon, which provided the opportunity for a lot of young swimmers to participate in a friendly but competitive environment. My personal thanks go to the swimming team coaches, who work tirelessly to ensure that these opportunities are given to many of our children. Well done to all involved- you should be proud of your achievements!

TES 1 - 1 KES

In the final league game of the season the boys put in a very solid performance against KES to earn a 1-1 draw. The boys played the ball out from the back and were looking confident passing and moving the ball up the pitch. Omar, Matthew and Richard at the back had a lot of possession and were moving the ball around well, however when the play got to midfield the passing was not as convincing. Woojin, Jack and Maxwell in midfield worked hard running but were unable to get their foot on the ball and pick a pass in the opposition half. Benjamin, playing upfront, was an isolated figure and was unable to get possession and hold onto it. After a couple of changes, Luca and Truman added a bit more energy to the team and were trying to find teammates with slick passing. KES managed to shock the TES team and took a lead during the first half, when a free kick traveled from 30 yards and ended in the back of Jads net. After conceding the boys improved the intensity of their play a fought hard in every single challenge across the pitch. After working the KES keeper from distance, we won a corner which was taken by Luca and put into the near post and ricocheted off a defender and wrestled in the back of the net, although Maxwell was in the area and cheered loud enough to claim the goal for himself. In the second half the boys continued to play some excellent passes from defence and were able to keep the KES team under constant pressure, on the odd occasion KES broke out and countered but in general the game was played in their half. On one of the counter the opposing striker hit a good shot and Jad had to make an excellent save to keep the score 1-1. The boys put a lot of effort into the game and deserved to come out with a victory but we were just unable to capitalise on our attacking chances. A very good performance to finish the season and we look forward to playing TEA in the semifinal in 2 weeks time.

TES 4 v 0 ATIS

The boys put in an absolutely fantastic performance against At'akamul in what will be one of the most difficult fixtures of the season. Straight from kickoff the boys pressed forward and very nearly scored in the opening seconds with a strike from Sam. The boys were playing some excellent, flowing football and the ATIS defence were just unable to keep up with the pace of the TES team. We had the ball in the back of the net from halfway through the first half when Maxwell won the ball and played it down the line to Sam, who crossed to Ciaran in the middle and he took a touch before calmly placing the ball into the bottom corner of the net. The front 3 continued to swarm forward and create chances, Maxwell scored the second goal of the first half following up on a shot and converting into the back of the net. Dexter, Haydn and Patrick in defence had little to do but when they were called upon they stepped up to the challenge and protected Finnley in net. The defence continued to intercept passes and win the 50-50's against ATIS and helped to feed the attackers. ATIS pushed forward to get themselves back into the game, with Finnley producing a very good save at one point. Harry came on and added a lot of energy and effort to the display, harrying and chasing the ball down with the rest of the team. A great pass by Maxwell down the line was latched onto by Sam, he took a good first touch and slides the ball past the keeper for the finish. At 3-0 there was only ever going to be one winner and the TES boys capped of the game in fine form with a brilliant strike by Ciaran that nestled in the top corner after Sam chased down the ball. A great team performance by the boys and they have set themselves a high standard to maintain the rest of the season. Fantastic display boys, well done!
B squad
TES 0 v 2 ATIS
The B squad started the game in a positive manner and pushed the ATIS team back from the very start of the match. The front three of Oli, James and Zayn were relentless attacking the opposition goal but were just unable to make the breakthrough. In defence Jack, Sam and Chad got forward and involved in the attack, while ATIS barely crossed the halfway line. The first half dominate should have led to a lead but ATIS defended well and Oli was unfortunate to hit the post from a decent left footed strike. The second half was a much different affair, with ATIS being the team attacking, while our boys defended. Rakan and Rory joined the game at half-time and added effort and energy, but were not capable of changing the outcome of the game. ATIS took the lead after taking advantage of some poor defending from our boys, then doubled the lead just a few moments later. Harrison in goal made a couple of outstanding saves to keep the score 2-0, but unfortunately it wasn't our day and despite having some very good scoring chances we did not get the goals our first half play deserved. The energy and determination was good from the B squad, we have a bit of work to do, to ensure we get back in the winning column.
