ISACK U13 Boys Football

TES 2 - 1 ESF
The ISACK football team got back to winning ways after two back to back draws in the league. The boys started the game against ESF really well, pressing forward straight away. James and Truman were working well down the lines whilst Ciaran, in centre midfield, was all over the place. Sam upfront was working along the frontline and had a number of shots early on. Ciaran’s left footed strike from distance beat the ESF keeper but very unluckily bounced off the post and away from all the TES attackers following the ball. The TES defenders were getting involved in the attacks with Dexter, Chad and Sverre all pushing forward to join the attack. Ali, Maxwell, Haydn and Patrick all entered the game from the bench and made positive contributions. Sam fired a great strike that looked destined for the back of the net, but the ESF defender did well to deflect his shot over the cross. Like much of the first half, a good cross was put into the ESF box but the TES attackers were just unable to get on the end of the ball. TES finally got the lead they deserved when Sam played a good one-two with Maxwell and hit a shot which went through the ESF keepers hands. At half time, the score was 1-0 and TES looked very comfortable with Jad in goal having very little to do. The boys started the second half well, continuing to dominate. Ciaran chased down the ESF defence and his block ricocheted to Ali in the middle of the goal and we looked like doubling our lead. Unfortunately Ali couldn’t quite connect correctly with the ball and it went over the bar. ESF were posing more of a threat in the second half and Jad had to make a few saves. TES continued to push forward but were unable to double their lead, with a number of crosses and shots just missing the target. Against the run of play, ESF got an equaliser when it appeared that the ball had been cleared from danger from a cross but the ball was redirected into the path of the ESF centre midfielder who smashed it past Jad to make the score 1-1. TES kept working and pushed forward looking for the winning goal they deserved but Ciaran, Maxwell and Sam all saw their shots blocked by defenders. TES got the goal that their performance deserved when both Ciaran and Maxwell pressured the defence, winning the ball in the box and having a first shot blocked before Ciaran placed the ball into the bottom corner making the score 2-1. A good way to end the league fixtures for TES and we are looking forward to the semi final next week.
