The Y5/6 football squad had two fixtures this week. The A squad gained two victories to put them well on course to winning the league. The B squad unfortunately lost out in their games and the C team enjoyed playing their first game for TES.

U13 Boys Football Semi Final
TES 1 - 2 BSK (AET)
On Tuesday TES took on BSK in the semi final of the ISACK U13 football competition. In a thrilling game BSK ran out winners 2-1 after extra time. However, TES should be extremely proud of the way they played and did not deserve to be on the losing team. The first half was an exciting affair and neither side could break down strong defences. The score at half time remained goalless. In the 2nd half TES started to play the better football and took the lead through a 20 yard strike from Basil. It looked as though TES were going to hold on for victory but with 5 minutes to go BSK scored as the ball skidded along the wet surface and squirmed across the goal-line and into the net after Andreas had done well to get a hand to the ball. TES had an opportunity to make the score 2-1 but the BSK keeper made a good save. At 1-1 the full time whistle was blown and the teams went into extra time. TES were again the better side in extra time and pushed for the winning goal. However, as the second period drew to a close and the dreaded penalty shootout loomed, a BSK player shot and the ball looped up from a deflection over Andreas in goal leaving him stranded, and into the net. With only minutes remaining TES could not force an equaliser and unfortunately lost out 2-1 as BSK progressed to the final. The boys were very disappointed but should be extremely proud of their efforts and can take great credit from the energy and passion they put into the game. Well done boys, a super season.

TES A 2 - 0 NES A
TES B 0 - 4 NES B

It was a super performance and a solid defensive display against a strong NES team. In the B game the TES boys worked very hard but were beaten by a better team on the day 4 goals to 0. Basil was named player of the day for the A team and Christian player of the day for the B team.
Y5/6 Boys Football
TES A 4 - 0 ATIS A
TES B 1 - 5 ATIS B
On Wednesday TES played ATIS in their second fixture of the week. The A team knew a victory could secure them the league title if other results went their way. The boys put in a superb performance and won the game 4-0 with David 2, Basil and Sam scoring the goals. Benjamin was named player of the match after making some great saves early on. The B team and C team also had fixtures this week. Both teams worked very hard but lost out to good ATIS teams. Warith was named player of the day for the B team with Aariz scoring the goal.
