KFSAC Boys Year 5/ 6 Football

The TES A squad continued their fine form in a 6-0 win against KES. The boys started the game very quickly and put pressure on the opposing defence from kick off. In a more attacking formation the boys upfront worked the KES keeper early and often. Within the opening minutes TES were 1-0 with a fine strike from Sam that nestled in the top corner. The second goal came from a corner which Sam struck the ball towards the near post and the ball ricocheted off a defender and into the goal. Just moments later Sam nearly added to his tally but the KES keeper made a good save and the ball hit the post twice without crossing the line. Sam added a third when he hit the ball through the KES wall from a free kick just outside the box. The TES forwards were cruising with Ciaran, Harry, Maxwell and Sam playing flowing football and creating numerous attempts at the KES goal. Maxwell then added a fourth for TES when he followed up from a rebound after Harry had hit a good shot which the keeper could not hold. By halftime the score was 5-0 when Harry struck a thunderbolt of a shot into the net after some quick attacking from the strikers. The game was won by halftime with Finnley in goal not touching the ball and the defenders, Dexter, Haydn and Patrick, better structured and difficult to break down, the defence had a lot more involvement in the game and the attackers were unable to replicate the fluidity of the first half. A lot of the game was played in the middle of the pitch and TES only managed to score the sixth goal with a fine strike from Dexter after he stepped up from defence. The season is primed for an explosive end with the final game coming next Monday versus DMS who have also won all their matches, in a winner takes all fixture.
A depleted B squad managed to put in a fine performance in the penultimate game of the season, beating KES B 2-0. With no substitute available, every single player played the entire match and put in a good shift. The front 3 of James, Rory and Zayn worked tirelessly, chasing down every single ball and constantly pressuring the opposition defence. In defence Chad, Rakan and Sam worked well and limited the opposing strikers to longer shots which did not look like scoring. Chad put TES up 1-0 after he hit a volley past the KES goalie that had little chance in making the save. Zayn doubled the lead with a composed finish from inside the box that nestled in the far corner of the net. After leading 2-0 at halftime the boys continued to push forward and press the play, with Zayn and James working hard to create chances for themselves and having plenty of shots on targets. The game finished 2-0 with a convincing win from the TES boys and they go into the final game of the season in second place in their division.
ISACK U13 Boys Football; Semi-Final

TES 2 - 2 TEA (TEA eventually won on penalties)
TES went into the semi final against TEA in a confident mood after previously beating their opponents in the league 3-0. The game was very closely fought with both teams looking solid in defence and limiting the opposing team’s scoring chances. The game was end-to-end with TEA having more possession but TES creating the better scoring chances. Benjamin was working well along the right wing and created a good chance after storming down the line and whipping in a great cross which was just put over the bar by a stretched Maxwell. Ben then worked the keeper himself with a good shot from the edge of the box which bobbled out of the goalies hands but unfortunately not close enough to Luca for him to follow up. TES then hit the post when Woojin chased down the defence, winning the ball then striking if left footed towards goal. The TEA goalie was lucky as the ball to hit the side of his head and then deflected off the bar away from goal. The TES defence limited the opponents to long range shots, with Jack, Omar and Richard stepping up and making good tackles and blocks at critical times. Jad, in goal, had little to do but claimed everything that came his way. The boys were putting their bodies on the line and challenging for every ball, which was very evident from Truman throwing himself into challenges to win the ball. Jack put the TES team one up with a fortunate goal, a cross/hit which was hit on target from way out and the keeper failed to track the ball in the air before it bounced into the goal. At halftime the boys had a deserved 1-0 lead from the effort and determination they displayed in the first half.
TEA edged the start of the second half but still were unable to trouble Jad in goal, it was a great kick from him that Maxwell ran onto and smashed the ball past the TEA goalie with a great strike from 25 yards out. At 2-0 the boys had one foot in the final with only 10 minutes left in the match. The two goal cushion only lasted a matter of minutes, when TES lost possession unnecessarily and a TEA player hit a wonder strike from 35 yards out that arrowed into the top corner leaving Jad no chance to save it. TEA really pushed for an equaliser but the TES defence were doing enough to hang on. TEA managed to get a 2v1 against Jad in goal, which he managed to make an unbelievable save and tip it out for a corner. TEA continued to push forward and finally got a second goal with some slick passing that opened up the TES defence and a calm finish placed the ball into the bottom corner. With the game going to penalties it was a lottery that could have gone either way. With 5 takers each Jad made 2 great saves and got his hand on another 2, but unfortunately only 2 of the 5 TES strikers were able to convert their chances. It was a disappointing end to the season for the boys but they performed admirably throughout and put in a great amount of effort in every single game. I would to also thank the TES parents for their support during the season - thank you very much!
ISACK U13 Girls Netball; Semi-Final
TES 52 - 2 BSK

Well, to put it bluntly, it was a superb performance more or less from start to finish. Having the home advantage meant our girls were well and truly fired up for the occasion, knowing a win would secure them a place in next week’s final and also a confidence booster going into this weekend’s BSME Netball tournament in Abu Dhabi.
The first 7 minutes of the game were a little sloppy in comparison to the rest of the game. Nerves had clearly taken hold and we put ourselves under pressure, making numerous unforced errors - these were the words of the girls themselves. The final 3 minutes of the first quarter however, were a joy to watch with effortless netball being played across the whole court. The score after the first ten minutes was 9-0. As we moved into the second half, the girls sustained their relentless efforts and mounted an all out assault on BSK giving them little/no chance to score. They did manage a goal during the 1 minute of play our girls switched off. Nevertheless, our girls were feisty and dug deep to ensure we weren’t going to let our lead go easily. It was a sterling second quarter, leading us into half time with a comfortable lead of 25-1.
The third quarter was much like the second, but somehow a whole other level of grit. The girls did not let up and worked hard through every section of the court. Numerous interceptions were made by Callie, Thalia, Olivia and Josefin- who had a superb game today - making it easy for Melanie to feed the ball into our shooters. Angelina and Darcy once again demonstrated what a formidable shooting pair they are. BSK were left with no opportunity to score in this quarter. The score after 30 minutes was 39-1. In the final 10 minutes of play, the substitutes came on and finished the game off for us in style. Lucy, Lily, Ruby and Sienna had positive impacts across the court and ensured that we were the out and out winners today. The four of them made several good interceptions and at times and their fresh legs injected yet another burst of speed into the game. The final score of 52-2 was thoroughly deserved and only further highlights their hard work in training paying off. Next Tuesday, they face KES in the final. Can they win this last game of the season and lift that shield they so rightfully deserve? Those who wish to cheer them on, the final will be played here at TES.
For those competing in the BSME Netball tournament this weekend, we wish you all the very best of luck!
