It has once again been a fabulous year of sport for the TES teams. In KFSAC the school teams have reigned supreme winning a huge amount of silverware and retaining the overall KFSAC trophy for the 5th consecutive year. Similarly, in the ISACK competitions the children have enjoyed terrific success. The boy’s basketball and girls’ netball teams retained their titles among other excellent successes throughout the year. The TES BSME squads also achieved tremendous success, retaining the U11 Games trophy from 2015 with a wonderful performance, whilst the swimmers performed superbly well in the BSME swimming competition in Dubai.
KFSAC
The school teams at U9 and U11 age have been incredibly successful in KFSAC. In the 17 events that have taken place against the 12 other schools involved, TES has won 13 of these events, finishing 2nd in one, 3rd in two and 5th in one event. As a result, TES is once again the overall KFSAC champion for 2015-2016. This is the 5th year in a row. Add to this that the TES squad have achieved another record score of 89 points, a huge 35 points ahead of 2nd place. Other notable achievements are that the swimming team has now won 8 consecutive KFSAC competitions, the athletics team has now won 7 consecutive KFSAC competitions in a row and in the benchball competitions TES has now won the last 16 events without losing a game - a feat that stretches over 100 games. These are some incredible statistics and it is amazing what has been achieved this year and over the past few years in sport at TES.

ISACK
In ISACK competitions our pupils have once again achieved some terrific results. In the six seasons that have taken place during the year, TES made 5 of the finals, winning 2 of these finals and unfortunately, on most occasions, unluckily losing out in the other 3. The girls in the netball final played outstandingly well earlier in the year to record a 22-11 victory against NES. The girl basketball team was extremely unlucky to lose out in the final after losing 4 very good players in December and the boys and girls volleyball finalists narrowly lost out in games they could have won on another day. However, the best was saved till last, in what was most probably the best ever final to be played at U13 level in all of the years of ISACK, TES triumphed 30-29 with a last second basket to win the game. It was fairytale stuff and the scenes of joy at the end from players and fans were amazing. Alongside the major seasons that the TES squads compete in, TES have won the boys 5 a side football, boys swimming and both the boys and girls table tennis competitions. The girls table tennis competition has now been won for 5 consecutive years! Overall in ISACK at U13 age TES sit proudly at the top after another sensational year.

BSME U11 Games
Safa School, Dubai
Thursday 17th to Saturday 20th March 2016
On Thursday, 17th March the BSME U11 squad travelled to Dubai for the annual BSME Games. We were looking to defend the overall trophy won at the 2015 Games. It was a wonderful trip and the pupils did the school proud, winning the basketball, football and athletics competitions. The netball and swimming squads both finished in 2nd place which ensured TES once again won the U11 BSME Games, retaining the title from last year. TES finished ahead of Horizon School and Safa School from Dubai in a superb competition. It was a phenomenal performance and every pupil should be extremely proud of their achievements. It is a huge feat to win the BSME Games and to do it in such style is an incredible achievement. The BSME Games is the pinnacle of the sporting year and the team trains extremely hard from October onwards. The level of competition is very high and to win 3 titles out of 5 events is very special. To retain the trophy is exceptional and all of the pupils should be extremely proud of their performance. It was a complete squad effort and very well deserved.

BSME Swimming Event
Hamdan Centre, Dubai
Friday 11th and Saturday 12th March 2016
The BSME swimmers travelled to Dubai over the weekend of Friday 11th and Saturday 12th March and performed superbly well at the BSME swimming gala. There were many personal bests set, a number of outstanding performer awards and everyone had a great time. Three of the competitors achieved fabulous individual results and our relay teams were outstanding in their races. We are very proud of our swimmers who trained very hard to achieve super results at the annual competition.
Summary and Final Words
It has been another exceptional year for TES and as I sit here writing my final sports report, I look back at fond memories of my seven years at this amazing school. When I arrived here in 2009 I was given the challenge of developing the sports department and PE programme with a vision to have a flourishing sports programme that competed with the best schools in Kuwait and across the Middle East. Over time, with the support of excellent PE staff and excellent leadership team backing, I have been able to achieve what I set out to do and I will always look back at TES with a smile on my face, knowing that sport here has come so far in the last seven years. I don’t want to go into detail and record all of our sporting achievements as you all know how much we have achieved over the years. I would like to thank all of my team and all of the staff who have helped out with teams and ECAs. You have all been amazing and without you we could not have been as successful as we have been. To current staff Mrs Peterson, Ms Simon, Mr Gibson, Mr Watts, Ms Byng, Mr Heskett, Ms Chal and Ms Grace, you have been simply outstanding and have brought so much joy to the many pupils that have come through TES and taken part in sport over the years. Thank you also to all colleagues at TES for your support and to former colleagues who contributed significantly to the school’s PE, Games and extra-curricular sports programme. I could not have done it without you.
Above all for me, the most successful thing I have achieved at TES is not winning all of the trophies and developing excellent sporting performers, it is seeing the love for sport that nearly every pupil in the school has. Creating an environment in which pupils can enjoy sport and can thrive in is what is most important in running a successful sports department. I have loved every minute of coaching the teams to success and I love seeing our swimming pool, tennis courts, sports hall and football pitches packed with pupils almost every afternoon playing sport. You cannot always please everyone, but I have tried to give an opportunity to all pupils through ECAs and B squads where possible as well as push our excellent athletes in the teams to be as successful as we can be. I would like to think this has been achieved over my time at TES.
I would like to say one last thank you. To the parents, you are amazing and always give TES such fabulous support. The time and dedication you put into transporting your children to practises, matches, ECAs and sports academies and ensuring they have all the equipment and kit is what makes it all work. Without you there is no doubt TES would not be where we are today on the sports front and I thank you for this.
All that remains for me to say is, I hope to look back next year when I am in Shanghai and see TES continuing to flourish in sport. I fully expect TES to be thriving and continuing to achieve exceptional results but above all I hope to see that the love for sport will remain in all pupils at the school.
