We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our 2018/2019 ISACK campaign, with both the boys and girls securing excellent victories in their opening fixtures.
ISACK U13 Boys Football
TES 7 v 0 NES
It was a great start to the season for the ISACK football team in the opening fixture against NES. The boys started the game very well, putting pressure on NES to win the ball and they kept possession well in very hot playing conditions. NES competed well early on, however, the TES boys took the lead 5 minutes into the game and then dominated proceedings from then on. Ciarán put a long throw into the NES box and Truman attacked the ball forcing it past the keeper with a right-footed half-volley. Shortly after, the TES team attacked with Sam and Maxwell forcing the ball towards the NES goal, the defence partially cleared the ball but Ciarán was on the edge of the box. He controlled the ball then fired a left-footed shot into the top left corner. NES had a couple of shots from distance but the defence of Sverre, Patrick and Dexter looked sound and Jad in goal collected every shot with ease. Truman then had a great run down the line, beating two men before firing a shot just wide.TES made it 3-0 before halftime with a great team goal. Ethan, Chad, James, Sverre, Haydn, and Ali all played lots of minutes during the game and all made good contributions to a superb team performance. In the second half, TES continued to control the game and made the score 4-0 when Ciarán flew down the wing, beating his defender with ease before passing the ball infield to Sam who smashed the ball past the opposing keeper. Minutes later, Maxwell put a great pass through to Ciarán who went close to scoring his second of the game with a thunderbolt of a shot that cannoned off the crossbar. Patrick then added the fifth goal with some tricky feet that confused the opposing defence before curling the ball into the top left corner. TES then added a sixth goal from Ethan. The final goal was scored later on when Dexter carried the ball forward and blasted a powerful right-footed shot that flashed by the NES keeper from the edge of the box. Late on in the game NES had a few chances to score but Jad in goal made a few very good saves to keep a clean sheet for TES. A fantastic way to start the season boys, 7 different scorers in the game, a truly remarkable result and team performance.
ISACK U13 Girls Netball
TES 31 v 1 ESF
After a hugely successful year in 2017/2018, our new U13 girls netball squad are looking to match their predecessors success. Many of the team are new to the squad and to the sport, but are well supported by our ‘vintage’ players. Little experience did not deter the girls in game one however, as they stormed to victory against a sharp ESF side.

The opening quarter was a little shaky, with numerous avoidable errors being made by the TES girls. Nonetheless, they finished the quarter 6-0 up, after finding their groove and relaxing themselves after the first 5 minutes of play. They looked much more comfortable at the end of the quarter, and ready to put their foot down in quarter two.

The second quarter was a much stronger performance, with some superb team play in the centre and attacking third. Lucy and Yara were left with very little to do in their defensive third, but when asked, they stepped up and managed to keep a clean sheet. Thalia found fine shooting form and she is to be commended for learning the trade so quickly, having spent two seasons in the GK position! Melanie made light work of her opponent, dominating the court and showing off what she can do at C. Ruby, Nourhan and Azariah were great supports and ensured TES’ victory in the second quarter, as they moved 15-0 ahead. Going into half time, the girls looked strong and felt much more at ease. Zara and Alice came on to make their debuts in the squad, both performing extremely well - Zara even managed to bag a couple of goals herself, despite being a foot shorter than everyone else on the court! The girls looked strong and continued their dominating performance, pulling out to a 24-0 lead after three quarters of play. In extreme heat (even the coaches and umpires were feeling it!), the girls showed resilience and a great desire to win. Olivia and Thaliya came on to give their first performances of the season and ensured that TES were sure of the win. A couple of lapses in judgement and exhausted players, meant that ESF managed to score their goal after working very hard throughout the match.

An excellent start to the season girls. With some fine tuning, they have the potential to achieve what was achieved before. Next week, we take on BSK at BSK.
