ISACK U13 Boys Basketball
TES 42-18 TEA

The boys got back to their winning ways with a 42-18 victory at home against TEA. After a difficult game last week against KES, the boys worked hard in training and competed very well against TEA. Offensively, the boys played superbly with Truman driving to the basket and providing assists to his team mates and every member of the squad battling to win rebounds at both ends of the court. Defensively, the team played with a lot more discipline and limited TEA to difficult shots. Last week the boys committed too many errors and turned over the ball far too often, it was still a slight issue this week however it was much improved. The end of the first quarter the boys had a 9-4 lead, however it felt like it should have been a wider gap. By halftime the lead was extended to 20-8 and the boys were playing more comfortably. Building an early lead allowed all of the players to get an opportunity to play, but it also meant that the third quarter was a lot tighter and we only managed to outscore TEA 5-4. Finn, Woojin, Benjamin, Truman, Omar and Richard all won rebounds and provided us with extra possession which meant that we had more shots and therefore more points. The team showed great resilience to battle through against a physical team and did well to force themselves to the free throw line on numerous occasions. In the front court the TES boys won the rebound battle and in the backcourt Matthew, Jack and Truman moved the ball around well and provided a number of steals to help limit TEA's scoring. TES put in a much more impressive performance in the last quarter of this fixture and added another 17 points, compared to TEA's 6. A much better display this week, great effort boys!
ISACK U13 Girls Volleyball
TES 2 - 0 TEA

The girls were away once again, this time to TEA. Since their defeat to NES a couple of weeks ago, the girls have really stepped up their game in training. More determined than ever, the girls went up against TEA confident after their big win last week to a very tough KES side and came away with a very comfortable win against the home side.
In the first set, our serving was strong from all of the girls and was well complimented by our returns. A few mistakes here and there meant that the girls had to work for it, but in the end, the pressure proved too much, as our girls took the first set 25-10. Darcy deserves a special mention for her 5 fantastic aces in this set!
As we moved into the second set, the first few points were very nip and tuck, as both teams missed serves and couldn’t return the ball on a couple of occasions. Eventually, we stepped our game up once again and thanks to some fantastic serving from Josefin and Amelia this time, we took the set 25-9.
Whilst only three names were mentioned, it was a whole team effort that won it today. The girls looked confident and cheered each other on throughout, showcasing fantastic team spirit and were a joy to watch! We played a third set afterwards (friendly), which allowed for all our girls to play in the game. We won that very comfortably, 15-6 thanks to some superb serving!!
Well done girls, you are looking really good at the moment! Next week, we face ESF away. A win would guarantee them a place in the semi-finals and the dream of winning all 3 major ISACK seasons would still be alive!
