On Wednesday 23rd October the Y5/6 Girls competed in the annual KFSAC girls benchball tournament. The tournament took place at TES and was watched on a beautiful evening by many supporters from all of the different schools competing. 10 schools took part in a super advert for girls sport and the competition was very exciting. The TES girls were exceptional beating GES 8-0, KNES 13-0, ATIS 7-0 and ESF 8-0 to finish top of their group. The girls then played KES in the semi final and triumphed 8-0 to move into the final. In the final TES took on a familiar opponent in NES. The game started well for TES who scored quickly twice in succession. However NES responded to make the score 2-1. TES then played some superb benchball and scored 4 more times to make the score 6-1. NES scored again but TES had the final say and made the score 7-2 to become the Y5/6 Girls Benchball champions for 2013. A fabulous performance from all of the girls involved after lots of hard work over the past few weeks. Well done to: Emma Jones (C), Izzy Jones, Amy O Kane, Alex Davies, Millie Smethurst, Davina Tuma, France Debray, Zeina El Kadi, Anika Palacios, Aafiya Khan and a special mention to Sara Hajjar and Lynn El Hage for all of their help during the training. This is the 3rd year in a row that TES have won the Y5/6 girls benchball tournament, which is a superb achievement.
