Superb U13 Boys Football Squad are crowned Champions
On Monday 4th March TES travelled to Dasma, Hasan Abul stadium to take on NES in the final of the ISACK U13 Boys Football competition. Over the past 3 months 8 teams have taken part in the competition. Each team played each other in a league format, followed by a semi final between the top 4 teams and then the final. After beating GES in the semi final in a very tense and close game TES entered the final as favourites to beat NES. The game started at a fast pace and NES began to move the ball around well making it difficult for TES to settle. However as TES gradually settled into the game they began to take control. Looking much more threatening on the break TES went close a couple of times. In the 15th minute after a Sam Watts header was brilliantly saved and a Brandon Jones shot went close, TES made the breakthrough. An Andrew Al Saleh corner was knocked out as far as Imad Khachab who volleyed the ball home for a super goal.
Half Time: TES 1 – 0 NES
In the second half different tactics were required due to TES being up against a strong wind. TES sat deep and kept an excellent shape and tried to hit NES on the break. With 10 minutes of the second half gone, Tariq Salah produced 3 superb saves in the space of 5 minutes to keep TES ahead in the game. One save in particular that he tipped onto the post was quite remarkable. This proved to be the point in the game that could have swung it either teams way. Fortunately for TES the brilliance of Salah in goals paved the way for the defining goal in the game. In the 15th minute Andrew Al Saleh was brought down by an NES defender within shooting range. The TES midfielder picked himself up and struck an unstoppable free kick into the top corner of the net to give TES a 2 goal lead. This spurred TES on and within the next 2 minutes they scored a 3rd. Another Andrew Al Saleh shot was saved and Imad Khachab was on hand to turn in the rebound. A few minutes later the full time whistle blew to wild celebrations as TES were crowned the U13 boys ISACK football champions for 2013.
Full Time: TES 3 – 0 NES
The boys remained unbeaten all season, playing 9 games, winning 7 and drawing 2 throughout the season. Tariq Salah was named man of the match in the final. A massive congratulations to all of the team involved in what has been a tremendous season: Sam Watts (C), Tariq Salah, Alex McEwan, Musaddiq Lakhana, Andrew Al Salah, Imad Khachab, Donaven Lobo, Brandon Jones, Adam Gamali, Cameron Turner, Yahya Ghiwala, Freddie Myles, Ethan O Kane, Ethan Doughty, Raphael Abou Chacra and Josh Martyr.
ISACK U13 Boys Volleyball and Girls Basketball Season
The ISACK Boys volleyball and girls basketball seasons have started very well for TES. The girls have so far played 2 games, beating TEA 48-0 and NES 14-8. This is on the back of their amazing triumph in the BSME U13 games in which they won the U13 Girls BSME Basketball trophy in Oman. This week they take on ESF before a 2 week break for the Easter holidays.
The boys have also started well. They beat TEA 2 – 0 in their first game in a comfortable victory. In their 2nd game they beat NES 2 – 1 producing some very good volleyball when it mattered. In their third game of the season they were beaten by BSK 2 – 1 in a very close game that included some very good volleyball for U13 age. The team have two remaining fixtures after the Easter break against ESF and KES to decide the positions for the semi finals.
KFSAC U11 Netball Champions
On Monday 11th March TES U11 girls netball team played in a KFSAC tournament against 4 other schools. The tournament was a friendly tournament and although trophies were awarded, no points were gained to go towards the overall KFSAC trophy. TES played superbly well and won all of their games. This included a 6-0 semi final victory over NES and a 3-1 final victory over ESF. An excellent performance from the girls.
Well done to: Cameron Uys, Aysha Al Arfaj, Summer Daniels, Emma Jones, Charlotte Thompson, Mariam Noureddine, Hannah Mathew, Eve Peterson, Kathryn Taylor and Emily Ocock.
ISACK Girls Swimming Gala
On Monday 18th March the girls ISACK swimming gala took place at TES for the U13, U15 and Open age girls. 5 schools in all took part and there was a very good standard of swimming on display. The results were as follows. Well done to the TES team for gaining an excellent set of results. Ms Chal and Grace use the competition to compete for the U13 championship but to also give the TES swimmers to compete at U15 and Open age against much older and stronger children.
