It was a busy week for the TES teams. In KFSAC the Y3/4 mixed benchball squad competed in the annual tournament and triumphed for the 6th year running. In ISACK the boys and girls both played in their finals of the competitions. Unfortunately both teams lost out but should be very proud of their efforts during the season. Well done all.
U13 Girls Basketball
TES 3 - 17 BSK
After a terrific season so far the TES girls U13 basketball team played against BSK in the final of the ISACK competition. The girls were well prepared for the game and were ready for a tough encounter. From the off BSK played great defence and did not let the TES girls settle. It was a difficult court to play basketball on at NES, a neutral venue, and the court helped BSK’s tenacious style of play. Both teams were finding it difficult to score but BSK went ahead and led 4-0 at half time. In the third quarter, and after TES missed a number of good opportunities, BSK stretched their lead with a couple of breakaway baskets. Again the TES girls had chances to score but couldn’t put the ball in the basket and really struggled with the aggressive approach of the BSK players. Eventually TES managed to score but it was all too late as BSK were comfortable winners. The TES girls were very disappointed but they should hold their heads high as they have had a terrific season, particularly after losing 4 key players mid way through the season. *Well done to all of the girls involved: Davina (C), Ella, Kira, Zeina, Crystal, Meraal, Lynn, Sydney and Layal. Alex, Millie, France and Hannah* should also be mentioned for their excellent efforts before the winter break.
U13 Boys Volleyball
TES 0 – 2 ESF
TES played ESF in the final of the boys volleyball competition on Tuesday in confident mood having beaten ESF a couple of weeks earlier. The game started well for TES as they went into a commanding lead. However, ESF hit back and took the first set 25-23. It could easily have gone to TES but a few key points were lost at crucial times in the set. In the second set it was a similar story with both teams exchanging points. The game swung back and forth and both teams went ahead at different stages. However, it was ESF who eventually came through winning thr second set 31-28 in a very exciting finish. This meant that ESF won the match 2-0 and claimed the title won by TES last year. It was frustrating for the TES boys who should be very proud of their season and progress through to the final.* Well done to: Jack, Michael, Evan. Owain, Cameron, James, Jaden, Nawaf, Rami and Andreas.
Y3/4 Mixed Benchball Tournament
TES claim title with fantastic performance
On Monday 1st February TES Y3/4 mixed benchball team played in the annual tournament held at TES. 12 teams were involved and each team has to consist of 3 girls and 3 boys on court at all times. The TES squad started superbly well beating BSK 5-0. In the following group games TES beat KNES 4-0, TEA 4-0, ABS 8-0 and NIS 8-0. The results sent TES through to the semi finals as top seeds to play against ATIS. In the semi final TES took control from the start scoring 2 quick goals. ATIS claimed a goal back but TES quickly scored again and another two goals took the game away from ATIS to give TES a 5-1 victory and move into the final. In the final TES again played BSK, who had beaten NES in the other semi final. The game started well with TES scoring quickly. However, BSK equalised but straight from the restart the TES team scored again. BSK then scored a second equalizing goal, but again TES scored straight from the restart. Another two goals put TES too far out of reach at 5-2 and there was no way back for BSK. It was a terrific performance from the squad who played superbly well throughout the tournament. All of the squad contributed significantly and should be extremely proud of their achievements. It is the 6th year in a row the TES team has won the trophy and puts the school way ahead in the race for the overall KFSAC trophy. All of the squad trained extremely hard for the past 4 weeks and claiming the trophy is just reward for the effort and fantastic attitude they have shown. Well done to: Robbie, Sam, Maxwell, Ciaran, William, Finnley, Noura, Nourhan, Talia and Fillipa. A special mention should also go to Haydyn, Felix and Melanie who were involved in every training session leading up to the tournament.
